TASK...
colour shading
In our first semester of FID, we did artworks for colour shading assignment in our 'Fundamental Drawing' module. Here, we had to do a total of 5 artworks using different colouring media such as: Charcoal, Pencil, Colour pencils, paint.
This assignment was to demonstrate us about Structure, Tones, Light and Shade in art.

1
Endangered Flora & Fauna A2 painting
We had to create our own original composition of an A2 sized coloured artwork using any media, which contains an endangered animal/plant in Malaysia. This final artwork was the best one i've done in this module. I used watercolour painting fully for this whole art piece as it is my favourite media to use. It took me 5 days to finish this...

Our colour shading assignments consists of 2 A3 artworks where we can paint/draw anything using coloured pencils and paint for us to get used to the feeling of using the different medias when shading.

2
A3 Colour shadings

For my first piece, I coloured flowers using coloured pencils. It is my weakest media in art as I don't really like the feeling of colour pencils since I find it really hard. However I was happy with the final outcome as for a first try.
Pancake Painting

This second colour shading painting is one of my best works in fundamental drawing as well. I used watercolour as well for this piece

3
Black & White shading
For this task we had to do 2 pieces of pencil and charcoal shading. For the first piece we had to do an A3 sized white charcoal shading on black paper where I decided to do a tiger shading...

ANATOMY SKETCH

I personally had fun here as me and my friends were laughing at each others' ugly sketches at first

The other shading was a bust scultpure anatomy shading on an A2 paper. Each student had to pick one sculpture in the studio and find a fixed position for them to stand and then draw it straight away on paper while looking at the sculpture.
Here we really learnt how to use tonal values, proportions and 'quality of line' properly. Moreover, our tutor taught us how to measure real life objects with fingers/pencils and transfer it on paper.
